4 Year Olds

The basic goals and objectives of the 4-year-old pre-school curriculum are:

	Prepare for Kindergarten and enjoy learning
	To learn socialization skills (playing, sharing, group cooperation)
	Show Christian love and concern for others
	Gain independence and learn self discipline
	Learn to follow directions
	Improve large motor skills
	Print name
	Work with problem solving, positional terms, math manipulatives
	Learn address and phone number
	Learn colors, shapes, introduce numbers and alphabet
	Work with time relationships, weather, visual discrimination, body parts, and visual motor skills
	Experience a variety of music, cooking and art activities
	Gain positive self image through positive reinforcement
	Grow in the knowledge that they are God’s special child and that they are loved.
	Learn pre-reading skills, i.e. letters and sounds.
